War 2 Trailer: Explosive

The much-anticipated theatrical trailer of the Jr NTR and Hrithik Roshan-starrer War 2 was released this morning. Directed by Ayaan Mukherjee, this action drama features Kiara Advani as the female lead. Based on the trailer, the film appears to be an ultimate action extravaganza, much like its predecessor.

The trailer opens with Hrithik Roshan’s voiceover as Major Kabir. He says that he has promised to live in the shadows for India. Then, we get introduced to Jr NTR’s character in his voiceover, where he says he has trained himself to be a weapon which knows only two things, either to kill or to die, for India. The faceoff between these two patriotic soldiers of contrasting ideologies forms the major crux of WAR 2.

Unlike Vaani Kapoor in the first part, it seems like Kiara Advani got a meaty role in this movie. She is also seen performing some intense action sequences in the trailer. Ashutosh Rana will be reprising his role from War and Pathaan. The cinematography looks stunning, and the production values are world-class. The background score was decent.

The trailer looks stylish and slick. But we have to see how the Telugu audiences receive the dubbed version because none of the actors, barring NTR and Kiara, are popular in Telugu states. Hrithik is a star in the North, but he doesn’t have a market in Telugu. Krish, which was released in 2006, was his sole hit in Telugu. On the whole, NTR plays a major role in pulling War 2 in Telugu. Unlike rumours, the trailer suggests he is playing a major role in the film, on par with Hrithik. This is going to be a huge advantage for the movie.
