Kingdom Day 1: Career Best Openings For Vijay Devarakonda

Vijay Deverakonda and Gautam Tinnanuri’s action drama “Kingdom”, which was released amidst high expectations, has opened big at the box office. The film collected a share of Rs. 9.92 crores from AP and Telangana, which is the highest in Vijay Deverakonda’s career. As there are no other big releases this week, Kingdom is expected to continue its good run at the box office this weekend.

Excluding GST, the Kingdom collected a share of Rs. 4.2 crore in Telangana, Rs. 1.70 crore in Ceeded, Rs. 1.16 crore in Uttarandhra, Rs. 75 lakhs in Guntur, Rs. 74 lakhs in East, Rs. 44 lakhs in West, Rs. 59 lakhs in Krishna and Rs. 34 lakhs in Nellore areas.

High expectations, good promotional content and Vijay’s popularity helped the movie get huge openings. Despite scoring flops with his last few movies, Vijay managed to sustain his stardom and gained massive openings for Kingdom, cementing his place as a formidable star among tier-2 heroes.

Kingdom follows the story of a police constable who goes on a secret mission to Sri Lanka as a spy, in search of his estranged brother. It features Bhagyashri Bhorse as the female lead. Anirudh Ravichander composed the music for the film.
