Recent Hit Songs That Didn’t Make It to Theatres

It’s become increasingly common for songs released during promotions to get dropped from the final theatrical version of films. Whether it’s runtime, flow, or technical delays, here are a few notable tracks that were edited out, at least in the initial release.

Hridayam Lopala – Kingdom

The first single from Kingdom carried Anirudh’s trademark melody and received a decent response. Still, the makers chose to remove it from the film’s first cut, fearing it would disrupt the narrative flow. Producer Naga Vamsi mentioned they plan to add the song in future screenings.

Pippi Pippi Dum Dum – Kuberaa

This fun, upbeat track was clearly designed to appeal to Rashmika Mandanna’s fanbase. But with the film’s runtime stretching beyond three hours, the team trimmed it out to maintain pace and focus.

Naa Naa Hyraanaa – Game Changer

A major highlight from the album, this song stood out for its grand scale and experimental visuals, shot with infrared cameras and a budget of ₹10 crore. Due to incomplete technical work, it didn’t appear in the initial release but was added later, post-launch.

Daavudi – Devara Part 1

Starring Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor, Daavudi had all the makings of a fan-favorite dance number. Initially removed to preserve the film’s rhythm, it was later added after the opening weekend following heavy fan demand.

Kalallo – Virupaksha

Although released as the second single, Kalallo never made it into the film. The team felt it didn’t align with the tone of the genre and would have felt out of place in the final cut.

Antha Istam – Bheemla Nayak

This soulful melody, composed by Thaman and sung by Chitra, stood apart from the rest of the album’s high-energy vibe. Ultimately, the song was removed and never restored in any version of the film.

Ichi Pad Ichi Pad – Bhagavanth Kesari

This celebratory number dropped shortly before release but was only added to the film later. Featuring a remix of Balakrishna’s iconic Danchave, it stood out musically but was kept out initially as it didn’t fit the film’s core tone.

Murari Va – Sarkaru Vaari Paata

Murari Va wasn’t part of the film’s initial release but was later inserted into theatrical prints a few weeks in. While it received a decent response, it didn’t quite achieve the same popularity as the rest of the soundtrack.

Amma Song – Guntur Kaaram

This emotional track was released digitally long after the film’s run. Many fans believed it could’ve added much-needed depth to the film if it had been included from the start.
