Is Coolie a Time Travel Film? Lokesh Reacts to Fan Theories

With just a few days left for the film’s release, director Lokesh Kanagaraj is all over social media, promoting his keenly awaited gangster drama, Rajinikanth’s Coolie. The film is scheduled for a huge release across the globe on August 14.

In a recent interview, Lokesh reacted to the ongoing fan theories about Coolie having a time travel concept. The buzz about this crazy concept kicked in after one of the promos prominently showed a watch. The visual and the time travel rumours spread like wildfire on social media.

Laughing off the time travel buzz, Lokesh went on to reveal that Coolie does feature a “watch factory” backdrop that plays a vital role in the narrative. The acclaimed director also revealed that the action sequences in Coolie will be very intense on the big screen. Well, while Lokesh’s latest revelation puts the time travel speculation to rest, it also intrigued fans about the watch factory world Lokesh has set the world of Coolie in. 

Coolie features an ensemble cast, including Nagarjuna, Aamir Khan, Upendra, Shoubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan, and others in key roles. Over Rs 350 crore is riding on the movie, and the pre-release ticket sales in India and overseas indicate a phenomenal opening this Independence Day weekend despite the tough competition from Hrithik-NTR’s War 2.
