Sreeleela Joins Ajith’s AK64, Directed by Adhik

Ajith Kumar and Adhik Ravichandran are teaming up again after the success of Good Bad Ugly, for a new project tentatively titled AK64. The film is currently in pre-production and is expected to begin shooting in October 2025, with a summer 2026 release on the cards.

Their last outing was a commercial hit in Tamil Nadu, and expectations are already building for this follow-up. Originally planned under Mythri Movie Makers, who also produced Good Bad Ugly, AK64 has now moved to Romeo Pictures, with Raahul taking over as producer.

The latest addition to the cast is Telugu actress Sreeleela. While her casting is official, early reports suggest she won’t be paired opposite Ajith. That spot might go to Srinidhi Shetty of KGF and Hit 3 fame, who is said to be in talks for the lead role.

Interestingly, Sreeleela was also considered for Good Bad Ugly,for the role that eventually went to Priya Prakash Varrier, the same one that gained attention after the remix track Thottu Thottu Pesum Sulthana went viral.

Sreeleela made her debut in Kannada cinema but found her footing in Telugu films. While a few recent releases haven’t landed well, she continues to pick up high-profile projects across industries. Alongside AK64, she’s currently working on her Hindi debut and also has a Tamil film lined up with Sudha Kongara and Sivakarthikeyan, Parasakthi.

On the music front, AK64 reunites Ajith with Anirudh Ravichander. Their past collaborations have delivered strong albums, and this reunion adds to the buzz. With a solid core team, returning collaborators, and the goodwill of Good Bad Ugly behind it, AK64 is shaping up to be one of the major Tamil releases to watch for in 2026.
