For the last one week, Hyderabad has been witnessing extreme weather conditions, and this is primarily driven by the incoming monsoon season, which is bringing torrential rains with it.
The situation turned, particularly aggressive last night when the city observed over 75 mm of rain in most parts. It was even reported that a flash cloudburst had also happened, which meant that the situation went out of control rather quickly.
The roads across the city, replicated rivers as waterlogging, and traffic jams were a common site all across.
The traffic situation and the unrelenting rains meant that the city population had to struggle big time, and on top of that there were these power cuts and wreckage in mobile network signals as well.
The city observed torrential last night, which created a lot of panic due to strong winds and lighting strikes. Several parts of the city were flooded with heavy water, which is slowly clearing out.
This again brings us back to the age old question about the efficiency of the drainage system in the city. It has to be seen if Chief minister Revanth Reddy can find an economically feasible solution for this problem that has been troubling the city for many years now.
