Post his road accident incident, Mega hero Sai Dharam Tej aka Sai Durgha Tej scored his career’s biggest hit in the form of Virupaksha. In the same year, he was seen alongside Pawan Kalyan in Bro. This movie turned out to be a flop. Later, he planned to join hands with director Sampath Nandi for “Ganja Shankar”. For some reason, this movie was shelved. Since then, he hasn’t come up with any films for the last two years.
After taking a significant amount of time, Tej started working on his most ambitious project, Sambarala Yeti Gattu (SYG). When the teaser was released a few months ago, the makers announced that the movie would hit the screens on September 25, during the Dasara festive season. However, apart from mentioning in the teaser, there was no talk about the film or its release since then.
We are just a month away from September 25, and it is now confirmed that SYG will not hit the screens on the mentioned date. The film is being directed by debutant KP Rohit and produced by Niranjan Reddy, who scored a massive success with his last film Hanu-Man. Reportedly, Niranjan Reddy started this project with a massive budget, but it is heard that the estimated budget was utilised halfway through the shoot.
Already, the estimated budget has been used, and there are many scenes which are left to be shot. Meanwhile, the cineworkers’ strike happened, and due to the delay in the shoot, the makers are incurring high interest rates, adding more budget troubles. Amidst these problems, SYG needs to do massive pre-release business, which is also inconsistent in the industry these days. As of now, the film is facing these challeges in the production stage and may take a few more months to hit the screens.
