The Allu family is grieving the passing of one of their elders. Allu Kanakaratnamma, the grandmother of actors Allu Arjun and Ram Charan, passed away this morning due to age-related issues. She was 94.
The sad news was made public early on Friday. Reports revealed that she passed away at around 1:45 AM. Her mortal remains are expected to arrive at Allu Aravind’s residence by around 9 AM before the final rites, which will take place later in the afternoon at Kokapet.
Allu Kanakaratnamma has always been a pillar of the family, having lived to an old age and being tied to one of the families associated with the glory of Telugu cinema. Kanakaratnamma’s husband, Allu Ramalingaiah, was a lovable veteran actor, and she is also the mother of Allu Aravind, a well-known producer in Telugu cinema. Over the decades, she got to see her grandsons, Allu Arjun and Ram Charan, achieve national prominence as actors.
Family members are making arrangements for the final rites. Allu Arjun is in Mumbai, while Ram Charan is in Mysore, but both will be in Hyderabad by noon. Allu Aravind is undertaking the arrangements in conjunction with Megastar Chiranjeevi. Pawan Kalyan and Naga Babu, who are in Vizag for a public event, will visit the family tomorrow to offer their condolences.
The passing of Allu Kanakaratnamma marks the end of an era in the legacy of one of Telugu cinema’s families. She is a loss to the family personally and also a loss to the large circle of friends and colleagues who have followed the family dynamic in the film industry.
