The anticipation around Anushka Shetty starrer Ghaati just got bigger. The film, directed by Krish Jagarlamudi and produced by UV Creations and First Frame Entertainments, has received a U/A certificate from the censor board. According to industry sources, members of the censor team were reportedly very excited after watching the film, praising both its scale and its performances.
Anushka Shetty reportedly delivered a powerful performance as Sheelavathi. Her character arc, a fierce transformation from victim to criminal to legend, is being lauded as one of her most intense roles yet. Early reports suggest this performance could stand out as one of the defining moments of her career.
The censor buzz also highlighted the presence of Vikram Prabhu, grandson of the legendary Sivaji Ganesan and son of veteran actor Prabhu, who makes his Telugu debut with Ghaati. He dubbed his own lines in Telugu, adding authenticity to his role.
The hype around the film was already strong, thanks to its breathtaking visuals of the Eastern Ghats and the music of Sagar Nagavelli. Songs like Sylore and Dassora have become instant chartbusters.
Insiders say audiences will walk out of the theatres with Sheelavathi etched in their hearts, calling Anushka’s performance tailor-made and National Award level.
