Senior Telugu film star and Hindupur MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna has been honoured with the prestigious World Book of Records, London, on completing 50 glorious years as an actor. The felicitation ceremony was held in Hyderabad on Saturday evening.
The World Book of Records has included the Padma Bhushan recipient in its Gold Edition for his invaluable service in the field of cinema and healthcare through the Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute.
Addressing the media and fans after the felicitation, Balayya had shown his generosity once again and announced a contribution of Rs 50 lakhs to the Telangana Chief Minister Relief Fund towards the relief and rehabilitation of the victims of the recent floods that devastated several districts, including Kamareddy, Jagitial, and others. Balayya is the first Tollywood star to announce a contribution for the Telangana flood victims.
On the work front, Balayya will next be seen in the keenly awaited action drama, Akhanda 2: Thaandavan, under Boyapati Sreenu’s direction. The film’s release date is yet to be announced by the makers.
