Lokah Enters ₹200 Cr Club: Will It Create an All-Time Record?

Lokah: Chapter 1, Chandra is one of the most successful films in the Malayalam film industry. Starring Kalyani Priyadarshan in the titular role, the film is directed by Dominic Arun. Dulquer Salmaan is the film’s producer. The film opened to a unanimous positive response from the audiences, and it also opened to hit talk in Telugu, titled Kotha Lokah. Interestingly, the film is set to cross the 200 Cr mark at the box office.

Malayalam films are rapidly growing at the box office, and Lokah is standing as an example of how a superhero film can be made with technically rich values in a shoestring budget. The ticket sales are still going, on a positive note. If the same trend continues this week, the film is set to become the all-time Industry hit for Malayalam cinema.

Lokah is already the Onam winner at the box office. In two more weeks, there are no notable releases in Malayalam. Hence, if Lokah can strike gold again, that will rake in more profits to the producers. The low key promotions altogether is also a reason for the film not attracting the audiences aggressively.

Already, Dulquer confirmed that Mammootty will also star in one of the sequeles of this Lokah universe. He also boldly confirmed that he would be sharing the profits with the team.
