Overseas Content Troubles: Time for Makers to Take Notice

We are just a day away from the premieres, and still, the makers have yet to deliver the full content of “They Call Him OG” overseas. This delay in content delivery and last-minute works has once again exposed the poor planning of production houses that has been constantly pertaining in the Telugu film industry, in the case of big-budget films.

According to the sources, the first half of the OG has been mastered, sent and uploaded to the Qube server. Reportedly, the distributor has pushed this content to all electronic spots. Coming to the second half, the work is still going on for the final two reels, and it may take around 5-6 hours more before it can be uploaded to Qube and sent to theatres. So, it may take till late hours tonight to fully deliver content to the overseas distributor.

These last-minute works will not only create panic among parties but also affect their businesses significantly. Production houses need to consider this issue seriously as it has been repeating for many big films, and if this is the case in the future too, they may not be cooperated with by the overseas distributors.

It is stated that the situation is going to be difficult for the locations where physical drives need to be delivered. We hear that the distributor is exploring all ways, from arranging in-person deliveries, same-day deliveries, to other alternatives, despite facing potential losses.

Most of the big films are facing these last-minute hurdles these days. Despite facing negative impact for a few films, production houses are repeating the same mistake again and again. After OG, the producers should take this matter seriously and ensure a smooth delivery of content to the overseas distributor within the deadline. It is being opined that if production houses manage to deliver content a week before the release day, a smooth release can be expected overseas, without affecting the distributors and other parties involved.
