Pics: Film Stars, Producers Join Hyderabad Police After Major Piracy Bust

Hyderabad police recently caught a major movie piracy racket. After this, they met with Telugu film industry members, actors, producers, exhibitors, and digital partners to explain what happened and how to prevent it.

Officials said there are two main ways movies are pirated. One, criminals record films in theaters using mobile phones. Two, cybercriminals hack digital distribution systems before a movie releases and steal the original studio content.

They also identified piracy websites like TamilMV, Telugu Blasters, and Movierulz. These sites earn money through sponsors, including online gaming and betting companies. Pirated movies are shared on torrent sites, Telegram channels, and illegal streaming platforms. The visitor data from these sites is sometimes used for other cybercrimes.

Film industry members welcomed the police action and promised full support. Actors Chiranjeevi, Venkatesh, Nagarjuna, Nani, Dil Raju, and others attended the meeting.
