Exclusive: Rowdy Janardhana Launch and Shoot Updates

Last year, it was announced that Vijay Deverakonda and Ravi Kiran Kola, director of Raja Varu Rani Garu, are collaborating on a period action drama, produced by Dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara Creations. On a few occasions, Dil Raju revealed that Rowdy Janardhana is the title of the film.

Director Ravi Kiran made his debut with Raja Varu Rani Garu in 2019, starring Kiran Abbavaram, and then worked as a showrunner for Ashoka Vanamlo Arjuna Kalyanam, starring Vishwaksen, in 2022. Both his previous outings were lighthearted comedy dramas set against a village backdrop. Since then, he has been extensively working on the pre-production of a Vijay Deverakonda film for three years, which is an intense period action drama. In one of his interviews, the director said, “What if a fictional character is told in the format of a biopic? That’s Rowdy Janardhana.”

After extensive pre-production, the team is gearing up for the production of the film. It is confirmed that the film will have its formal launch on Saturday, October 11, in Hyderabad, with the attendance of the film’s cast and crew. While the cast and crew details are being kept under wraps, it is reported that Keerthy Suresh will be pairing up as the female lead alongside Vijay Deverakonda.

Soon after the formal launch of the film, Within Makers will kick off the regular shoot. On October 16, the makers will start the first schedule of the film in Bombay. Vijay Deverakonda, who is already shooting for a film directed by Rahul Sankrityayan, will continue to shoot for both films simultaneously.

On a personal front, Vijay Deverakonda was recently engaged to Rashmika Mandanna, and reportedly, they will tie the knot in February next year. Additionally, two of his films are planned for release next year, the coming year will be a treat for fans of Vijay Deverakonda.
