Director SS Rajamouli is determined to make a biopic on cinema, and in the process, he prepared a script on the life of Dadasaheb Phalke. Interestingly, his son Karthikeya is the front-runner to direct the film, while Nitin Kakkar is reportedly attached as the project’s director under Rajamouli’s supervision. Jr NTR was initially rumored to play the lead role, but the latest reports confirm that he is no longer part of the film.
The exact reasons behind NTR not choosing to do the film now are unknown but it is reportedly confirmed that NTR moved on from this movie. However, Rajamouli wants to rope in another pan-India star to take the project forward despite the setbacks.
Already, director Raj Kumar Hirani is planning a film on the life of Dadasaheb Phalke, with Aamir Khan. They even brought the rights to doing the same. However, the family members of Dadasaheb earlier raised objections for Rajamouli’s project citing that none approached them for the rights.
Rajamouli and NTR share a close bond, having worked together on four films. However, despite their strong association, their next collaboration does not seem to be happening this time. As of now, there is no official confirmation on the project.
NTR is currently busy with Prashanth Neel’s Dragon and will next be seen in Devara 2 along with a film in the direction of Trivikram Srinivas. Meanwhile, Rajamouli is busy with a film starring Mahesh Babu which is reportedly titled Varanasi.
