Tollywood heartthrob Vijay Devarakonda, who is in pursuit of scoring a blockbuster after all his recent films didn’t meet the desired expectations at the box office, will now test his luck with a complete rural mass entertainer under the direction of Ravi Kiran Kola. This film, which is reportedly titled Rowdy Janardhan, has been formally launched in Hyderabad today morning.
The Pooja ceremony was held just a while ago in Dil Raju’s office and it was attended by renowned producer Allu Arvind and talented director Hanu Raghavapudi. Rowdy Janardhan marks the second collaboration of Dil Raju and Vijay Devarakonda after their previous outing The Family Star. Keerthi Suresh is paired opposite Vijay for the first time with this film. The duo previously worked together for Mahanati but did not appear as the lead pair so far.
This film was announced last year and an intense poster with a blood stained hand holding a machete was unveiled. However, due to Vijay’s busy commitments, the project didn’t take off till now. Interestingly, Dil Raju roped in technicians from Malayalam for this action drama. While the cinematography will be handled by Premam fame Anend Chandran, music score is going to be rendered by Christo Xavier who delivered hits with Brahmayugam, Turbo and Sooshmadarshini. The production designer will be Dino Shankar.
Besides this film, Vijay has a period drama with Taxiwala fame Rahul Sankrityan at the helm. He is likely to shoot simultaneously for both these films.
