Diwali 2025: Debut Directors’ Dhamaka

Telugu cinema has been seeing a rise in debut directors making films that do well at the box office. Earlier this year, films like Court by Ram Jagdeesh and Little Hearts by Sai Marthand proved that new directors can deliver hits without big stars. This Diwali, four new films by debut directors will release.

The first release is Mithramandali on October 16. It is a comedy drama directed by Vijayendar S, a newcomer from the group of young directors who made comedies like Jathi Ratnalu and MAD. The film stars Priyadarshi, Niharika NM, Rag Mayur, Vishnu Oi, and Prasad Behara. It is presented by Bunny Vas under BV Works and produced by Kalyan Manthina, Bhanu Pratapa, and Dr. Vijender Reddy Teegala. Music is by RR Dhruvan.

On October 17, two films will hit the screens. Telusu Kada is the first. Neeraja Kona, known for her work as a stylist, costume designer, and lyricist, makes her directorial debut. The film stars Siddhu Jonnalagadda, Raashii Khanna, and Srinidhi Shetty. It is produced by TG Vishwa Prasad and Krithi Prasad, with music by Thaman S.

The second film on the same day is the Telugu-dubbed version of the Tamil film Dude. Keerthiswaran, who worked as an associate director with Sudha Kongara, directs the film. It features Pradeep Ranganathan, Mamitha Baiju, R. Sarath Kumar, Hridhu Haroon, Rohini, Aishwarya Sharma, and Dravid Selvam. It is produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar under Mythri Movie Makers, with music by Sai Abhyankkar.

The final release is K Ramp on October 18. Kiran Abbavaram and Yukti Thareja star in the film, directed by debutant Jains Nani. The romantic entertainer is produced by Razesh Danda under Hasya Movies and Shiva Bommak under Ruudransh Celluloid. Music is by Chaitan Bharadwaj.

These releases show that new talent is getting space in Telugu cinema. Even without big stars, debut directors are making films that attract audiences and perform well at the box office.
