It’s not uncommon in the film industry for actors to pass scripts to others they feel are better suited. Many successful films have changed hands before reaching the right star.
Siddhu Jonnalagadda’s latest release, Telusu Kada, a bold love story directed by debutant Neeraja Kona, hit theaters last Friday. The film opened to decent reviews and enjoying a steady run at the box office. To mark the film’s success, the team held a success meet on Wednesday with the cast and crew in attendance.
At the event, Siddhu thanked Neeraja Kona for bringing the unique story and giving him room to shape the character and the script. He also acknowledged Nithiin, who called him personally and suggested the script. Siddhu explained that Nithiin felt the story suited him perfectly.
While Siddhu did not reveal all the details, it appears Neeraja Kona initially approached Nithiin for the lead. Nithin may have felt the role didn’t match his image and recommended Siddhu instead. Siddhu’s performance as Varun is receiving praise from both critics and audiences.
On social media, fans are making light-hearted comments about Nithiin missing out on potential hits. This comes after Nithiin recently passed on several projects. Among them, Venu Yeldandi’s Yellamma now stars DSP, A. Sreenu Vaitla’s film is moving forward with Sharwanand, and Vikram K. Kumar’s project is in talks with Vijay Deverakonda. Nithiin is currently taking a break while listening scripts for his next project.
Telusu Kada is directed by Neeraja Kona and produced by TG Vishwa Prasad and Krithi Prasad. The film stars Siddhu Jonnalagadda, Raashii Khanna and Srinidhi Shetty, with music composed by Thaman S.
