A fake social media profile pretending to be Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone went viral on Thursday, sharing a reaction to the first look of Prabhas’ upcoming film “Spirit”. The post claimed that Deepika was “sad” but found the teaser “wonderful.”
Official sources have confirmed that Deepika did not make this statement, and the viral post came from a fake account impersonating her, misleading fans online.
The confusion followed filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga releasing the audio teaser of Spirit on social media to mark Prabhas’ birthday. The teaser, presented in five Indian languages, features the main cast including Triptii Dimri, Kanchana, Prakash Raj, and Vivek Oberoi alongside Prabhas.
Several national and local media outlets reported the post as genuine without verifying its authenticity, contributing to the spread of misinformation. Fans are urged to check verified social media handles and avoid trusting posts from impersonating accounts.
