Prasant Varma Must Break The Silence!

Tollywood director Prasanth Varma rose through the ranks with the soaring box office success of his last outing Hanu-Man. His demand saw a meteoric rise overnight and made him one of the most-sought-after directors in the country after the release of Hanu-Man. And, he fully cashed in on his newfound craze by signing a spate of films, which he labels them as part of his own cinematic universe. 

Prasant already announced more than half a dozen films and even unveiled the first look posters for some of them. Besides these commitments, he also lined up a film with Prabhas. Also, a couple of his ambitious projects which were supposed to have Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh and Nandamuri scion Mokshagna in the lead roles were put on the back burner without assigning any reasons. Even after two years since the release of his last film, there is no clarity on when will he kickstart the next project. 

Amid all this chaos, a new rumour about the director has recently gained a lot of attention in both the industry circles and in the media. As per unsubstantiated reports, Prasanth Varma has taken advances from several marquee production houses including Mythri Movie Makers, DVV Danayya, Hombale Films etc to work with them after Hanu-Man. However, none of these projects took off so far. Moreover, talk in industry is that the director is utilising the advance amounts to build his own studio and sidelined all the projects he committed to work. 

Despite speculations about his disputes with producers who are said to be very displeased with his dilatory tactics, Prasanth Varma has been maintaining radio silence all these days. He never opened up on why Mokshagna’s film was set aside just before the day of launch and the reasons for dropping Ranveer Singh’s film. Also, he did not react on the ongoing rumours about having differences with different producers over his advances and the delay of their projects. 

Though DVV Danayya officially released a press note that his production house did not pay any advance to Prasanth Varma, rumours continue to float all around regarding his upcoming projects. He continues to stay away from the media without reacting much to the ongoing buzz. It is high time he reacted on these rumours or at least give some clarity on when he will start working on his next project. Only if he opens his mouth and sets the records straight on rumours, there will be some clarity on his future projects.
