A new biopic on Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been officially announced. Titled Maa Vande, the film will showcase the journey of Modi from his childhood to becoming the country’s top leader.
The film, directed by Kranthi Kumar CH, carries the tagline The Anthem of a Mother. It focuses on Modi’s emotional bond with his mother, Heeraben, who had a huge influence on his personality and values. Modi often mentioned how his mother’s strength and simplicity shaped his path, especially during tough times after his father’s demise.
Malayalam actor Unni Mukundan will be stepping into the role of Narendra Modi, while Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon will be seen as his mother, Heeraben Modi.
Unni Mukundan said he grew up in Ahmedabad when Modi was the Chief Minister and called it an honour to play the role. He added that the film will explore “the man beyond the statesman,” with a focus on his mother’s role in shaping his life.
Maa Vande is being made as a big-budget pan-India film under Silver Cast Creations, with Veer Reddy producing it. Top technicians are on board; cinematography by K.K. Senthil Kumar, music by Ravi Basrur, editing by Sreekar Prasad, production design by Sabu Cyril and action by King Solomon.
The film aims to present Modi’s journey with emotional depth and grandeur. While there have been political biopics before, Maa Vande stands out for bringing his mother’s story to the forefront.
