He wrote: “1st Half – Excellent Drama, 2nd Half – Brilliant Investigative Thriller & Drama. Set in the 1950s Madras Movie Industry. @dulQuer may win a National Award for Acting. #BhagyashriBorse is terrific, @thondankani is fantastic, @RanaDaggubati is excellent. Authentic recreation of the past and technically superior. Director #SelvamaniSelvaraj is a master storyteller. Don’t miss it!”
VJ Santhosh also gave the film a 4.5-star rating, hailing it as a “genre-bending classic of the year.”
“#SelvamaniSelvaraj crafts an unbelievably gripping tale of ego clashes, romance, and tension that leaves a lump in your throat. @dulQuer is phenomenal as #TKMahadevan — a National Award-worthy performance! Last year Lucky Bhaskar, this year this gem — the dark horse of the commercial blockbusters. @thondankani, #BhagyashriBorse, and @RanaDaggubati deliver pitch-perfect performances. A must-watch masterpiece of 2025 👏.”
