Young music director Sai Abhyankar has been the talk of the town in South India ever since he started bagging big projects like Allu Arjun-Atlee film, Suriya’s Karuppu and Karthi’s Marshal, before making his debut. Though Balti was his first release as the music director, it was Pradeep Ranganathan’s Dude on which everyone had their attention. When the first single from Dude, Oorum Blood, was released, everyone criticised it and called Sai an over-hyped sensation. They also doubted his work for other biggies.
However, things changed a bit after Dude was released in theatres. Most of the people were impressed by the music and called the songs “Slow Poisons”. But things took a drastic turn when the film premiered on OTT last week.
Hundreds of edits started flooding on social media, using Oorum Blood’s original score, with people praising its universal flavour. Social media has been filled with this BGM and its edits for the last few days. All of a sudden, people who criticized Sai have started praising his work.
Especially, the interval BGM, which is a rehashed score of Oorum Blood, clicked very well with the audience after Dude’s OTT release. Soon, people started syncing the score with other popular film scenes. These clips went viral on social media, with netizens praising the universal sync-worthy flavour of the BGM.
As a result, not only the BGM but the video song started trending on social media once again. Surprisingly, Oorum Blood also crossed 100 million views today on YouTube.
On the whole, this response turned out to be a huge surprise for Sai Abhyankar after the initial criticism. Also, it will boost his confidence for his upcoming biggies. On the other side, audiences are highly excited to see what Sai has in store for his upcoming films.
