Akhanda 2 Target Is Exactly Double This Time

Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Akhanda 2 is the next anticipated release in Telugu cinema. Directed by Boyapati Srinu, this movie is a sequel to the 2021 blockbuster, Akhanda. It is slated for pan-India release on December 5. Unlike the first part, Akhanda 2 is releasing in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi. As the scale and budget increased for the sequel, the target is also high.

According to trade reports, Akhanda 2 is expected to collect more than Rs. 200 crores at the box office to become a profitable venture. It is almost double the total collections of its predecessor. Back in 2021, Akhanda collected around Rs. 120 crores and became a blockbuster at the box office.

However, the sequel lacks the pre-release hype and anticipation like the first part. The makers started promoting the film very late, and until now, the buzz has been quite low. The theatrical trailer was released last night and is making good buzz in the Telugu states, but it remains to be seen if it manages to grab the attention of people of other languages. As there are fewer than two weeks left for release, the makers should promote the film aggressively and make sure the buzz increases so that the film will have good chances of crossing the break-even mark with a good word of mouth.
