Every time a big-ticket film releases in Tollywood, discussion about ticket prices often takes the spotlight. It has become a common practice for producers of high budget films to opt for ticket hikes for premiere shows and first the two weeks of release.
When ticket prices are increased unreasonably, it will have a noticeable impact on the footfalls. Some recent biggies experienced a steep fall in revenues after the first weekend due to exorbitant ticket fares even after getting decent word of mouth. This is why producers and buyers need to be extra cautious while fixing the ticket prices.
Now, all eyes are on the next big release Akhanda 2, which stars Nandamuri Balakrishna in the lead role. The makers of this much anticipated sequel revealed during the recent promotions that they are going to opt for an affordable ticket pricing for both premiere shows and regular shows.
Akhanda 2 needs to collect over 200 Crores at the box office to put its buyers in safe zone. So, ticket hikes will play a significant role if the film manages to get a decent talk. If the makers stick to their word and go for an affordable pricing, it is likely work in favour of the film and result in strong occupancies in the first two weeks. There is strong buzz that ticket prices may be in the range of Rs 500 – Rs 600 for premiere shows, which will be an ideal strategy in the present day scenario.
For first part, there were no hikes granted by Andhra Pradesh government. Yet, the film managed to secure profits in all territories because it performed exceptionally well after getting unanimous reports and also despite COVID pandemic.
Akhanda 2 is touted to be the one of the biggest mass films of the year. The Boyapati Srinu directional will have a huge release on December 5th with premiere shows on 4th.
