Akhanda 2 Telangana GO Out Now With A Twist!

Akhanda 2 is one of the much awaited films in Telugu. Starring Balakrishna Nandamuri in the lead role, the film is directed by Boyapati Srinu. The movie marks the reunion of Balakrishna and Boyapati for the fourth time. The fans are eagerly waiting for the premieres to happen and the bookings will commence shortly. The government of Telangana passed a GO in favour of the film for increasing the price of tickets.

There will be a special show in Nizam at 8 PM and the ticket price is confirmed to be 600 rupees including GST. A hike of 50 rupees is permitted in single screens and a hike of 100 rupees is permitted in the multiplexes for the next three days, starting tomorrow.

However, there is an opinion among the audiences that the GO could have come out much in advance, giving the team to create awareness and hype around the film’s premiere shows. Even then, this is a welcoming move from the team and the good part is that the film will be screened in both the Telugu states around the same time.

The fans are initially worried that the films would start early in Andhra Pradesh and late in Telangana, resulting in a divided talk but now, things are sorted and the shows will begin at the same time.

Now that the decision of premieres has come out, the makers are expecting a good turn of audiences for the early shows. If the film opens to a good talk, it will surely bring in good revenues for the film.

Here comes the real twist in the GO. Telangana CM Revanth Reddy had already instructed that a portion of the revenue earned from the hiked ticket prices must be allocated to the Movie Artistes Association’s welfare fund. In line with this directive, the government order also mentions the same.

“All theatre managements screening this movie at the enhanced ticket rates are directed to compulsorily contribute 20% of the incremental revenue earned from the movie to the Movie Artists’ Welfare Association account, to support film industry workers,” the GO stated.

However, there have been multiple view points on this aspect. In reality, it coule be a blessing in disguise for a lot of people working in the film industry but not everyone would be happy to be contributing to that fund. In coming days, we will understand if this initiative is actually helping the beneficiaries.
