Christopher Nolan is one of the world’s most celebrated filmmakers. After delivering major blockbusters such as Inception, Interstellar, Tenet, and Oppenheimer, he is returning to the director’s chair for his next ambitious project, The Odyssey. The film will also be released in Telugu, and the team launched the Telugu trailer yesterday.
Based on the famous Greek mythological epic, the film has generated extraordinary buzz ever since filming began. The hype is so intense that bookings were reportedly opened nearly a year before its release, reflecting Nolan’s massive global fan following.
Now that the trailer has been released, it is set against the backdrop of Trojan war. Matt Damon plays Greek hero Odysseus, who sets out on a journey home with his men after the brutal Trojan War.
After suffering torture, death, and mayhem, they must return home, back to their families. However, the journey is no better than the ordeal they have endured so far.
The trailer features grand visuals, giving the overall vision Nolan is trying to convey a rich look. The film also stars Anne Hathaway as Odysseus’ wife, Penelope, and Tom Holland as his son, Telemachus, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, and others also star in the movie in various roles.
Made on a massive budget of around 2250 crore rupees, the movie will hit the screens on July 17, 2026.
