During Dhandoraa movie pre release event, comments made by actor Shivaji on dressing sense of actresses, became huge controvercial. While speaking, he tried to share his views in his personal context, but some of his words led to widespread discussion and criticism. The issue quickly gained attention across media and social platforms.
Within 24 hours of the incident, Shivaji responded with an apology video and addressed the matter publicly. He expressed regret over certain words used during his speech and clarified that there was no intention to offend anyone. He stated that his comments were made with a sense of concern and advice, not with any negative motive.
At the latest pressmeet, Shivaji further explained that he acknowledged the discomfort caused by his choice of words and offered an apology for them. He made it clear that he respects everyone and did not intend to cross any limits.
At the same time, he said that he stood by the broader intention of his statement, while accepting responsibility for how it was expressed, and added that he was not afraid of anyone when it came to that stand.
Shivaji added that the issue took a toll on him and kept him away from promotional activities for some time. However, he said that participating in the press meet was part of his responsibility toward the film. He concluded by stating that he hoped the focus would now return to the movie and its team.
