Rajamouli’s Global Plans For Varanasi

Superstar Mahesh Babu’s upcoming film, Varanasi, is gearing up for a grand release in 2027. The team is yet to complete the shoot, and the director SS Rajamouli recently hinted at the pending shoot, which will happen over the course of six months next year. Interestingly, there are hints about the film hitting the screens in Japan.

The official X handle of IMAX Japan shared the official glimpse of Varanasi along with its release year, fueling speculation that the film will release in Japan. Earlier, Rajamouli’s film RRR created records at the Japanese box office despite arriving in theatres much later.

Now, the makers are reportedly planning a simultaneous release of the film in Japan along with its global release, which would help it gain massive reach. Rajamouli has already emerged as a strong brand in the country and can draw huge crowds to theatres.

If everything goes well and the schedules are planned well in advance, a Japanese release is easy to achieve. More details of the same are awaited.
