Raghuvaran B.Tech is one of the hit films in Telugu (Tamil dubbed), which brought immense fame to actor Dhanush. The project was supposed to be remade in Telugu with with Ram Pothineni playing the lead. At the last minute, the producers decided to drop the project and proceed with dubbing. Director Kishore Tirumala, who wrote dialogues for the dubbing version, shared the backstory behind it.
Interestingly, he is promoting his next film Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi, starring Ravi Teja in the lead role. Ram luckily escaped from the remake project, and had he done that, it would not have been a big success.
Nenu Sailaja was approved first, and then Raghuvaran B Tech was also in the pipeline. But, the team took a wise decision to go ahead with Nenu Sailaja which has become a big hit at the box office, allowing Raghuvaran Btech also become a success in theatres. The Telugu audiences welcomed Dhanush warmly, allowing him to become a star instantly.
There is also an opinion that the project would not have achieved this success if Ram had remade it. Obvious comparisons would have arisen between the original and the remake. Fortunately, Ram avoided this by smoothly stepping back from the project.
Later, Ram and Kishore Tirumala worked once again for Unnadi Okate Zindagi. They plan to collaborate once again.
