Karthi’s Va Vathiyar was supposed to hit the screens in December last year. The film was supposed to be released with the title Anna Garu Vostaru in telugu too. However, the film’s release was postponed due to financial issues.
Studio Green’s KE Gnanvel Raja produced the film, and he had financial issues with his former business partner, prompting court cases and the film’s postponement. However, now, the production house confirmed the film’s release on the 14th.
With Vijay’s Jana Nayagan officially getting postponed, Sivakarthikeyan’s Parasakthi is the only film to hit the screens. The film was released today, amidst censorship delays, but attracted a mixed response from the audiences and critics. Pongal is the best season for film releases in Tamilnadu and the producers are missing out on this.
The sources say that Gnanvel Raja cracked a code with his partner to bring out Va Vathiyaar for a release on the 14th of this month, to cash in on the Sankranthi season.
It looks like there could be some mutual understanding between the two parties, clearing the line for the film’s release. Karthi’s film has a fair chance to make it big with the film at the box office.
However, Karthi’s Anna Garu will not hit the screens in telugu even if it makes way to theatres in Tamil Nadu with a heavy rush of Telugu films at the theatres.
