Akshaye Khanna Returns To Dhurandhar 2, But How ?

Bollywood’s latest blockbuster spy thriller Dhurandhar marked a comeback of sorts not just for Ranveer Singh but also for Akshaye Khanna. Who stole the spotlight with his stupendous act in the menacing character of Rehman Dakait. As the record breaking spree continues at box office, the attention now firmly shifts towards the second part.

The box office impact created by Dhurandhar is so high that the anticipation for the sequel keeps building up among moviegoers. And to match the massive expectations, the makers are now planning to add more intrigue and drama to the narrative. Though major shooting part of Dhurandhar 2 was already wrapped up with plans to release it in March this year, director Aditya Dhar is reportedly reshooting some episodes. 

Interestingly, the most loved character of Rehman Dakait will return in the sequel as per reliable sources in Bollywood media. This is a big suprising news because viewers thought that Akshaye Khanna’s character ended in the first part as Rehman Dakait dies towards the end. 

Reportedly, it is heard that director Aditya Dhar is planning to reshoot key scenes involving Akshaye Khanna from the end of this month. It will be interesting to see how Dhar will incorporate Dakait’s character in the sequel. If this news turns out to be true, the hype on the second part will shoot through the roof. 

The sequel will reportedly show the rise of Ranveer Singh’s character in the terror group of Lyari Town in Pakistan after the death of Rehman Dakait. May be, Aditya Dhar will showcase the flashback episodes featuring Akshaye Khanna’s role to make the story more riveting and engaging. 

The movie is set to hit theaters on March 19, 2026. It will clash with Yash’s highly anticipated film ‘Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups’ at the box office.
