No Break After Blockbuster: Chiru Gears Up for Mega 158?

Megastar Chiranjeevi once again proved that his box office clout is intact with the tremendous success of his Sankranti release Mana Shankar Vara Prasad Garu, which dominated the festival season despite heavy competition. The Anil Ravipudi directional broke several records in the first week and turned out to the first biggest blockbuster of 2026. 

Basking in the glory of this success, Chiranjeevi decided not to take much gap for his next project. He is now gearing up to kick start the shooting formalities of ‘Mega 158’ in the direction of Bobby. The film marks his second collaboration with the director after Waltair Veerayya, which stormed the box office during 2023 Sankranti. 

As per reliable reports in industry circles, the formal launch of this untitled film will take place in the last week of this month and the regular shooting is expected to flag off simultaneously. As Sankranti is bringing good fortune to Chiru with hits like Waltair Veerayya and Mana Shankar Vara Prasad Garu, the makers of ‘Mega 158’ are planning to release the film for next year festival. 

The concept poster of this much anticipated project was unveiled on Chiru’s birthday last year. The fiery poster showcased a blood stained axe cutting into a wall and hinted that it will be a full fledged action saga with loads of intensity and bloodshed. The caption “The Blade that set the bloody benchmark” created a strong buzz on the film. 

Mega 158 will be bankrolled by Venkata Narayana and Lohith NK of KVN Productions. This is their maiden production in Telugu. The cast and crew are yet to be announced.
