After the formation of the NDA government in Andhra Pradesh, attention naturally shifted towards how the state would support the film industry.
With a Star Hero taking charge as Deputy Chief Minister and Kandula Durgesh appointed as Minister For Tourism, Culture and Cinematography, expectations grew within Tollywood. Pawan Kalyan openly invited filmmakers to consider Andhra Pradesh for movie shootings and promised government support.
While many saw this as a routine statement, actor Naveen Polishetty decided to act on it. During the planning stage of his film Anaganaga Oka Raju, he chose to move away from regular studio based shooting and look for real locations that suited the story. This decision led the team to Andhra Pradesh, especially the Godavari region.
The choice was not driven by benefits or publicity. It was purely about making the film feel natural. Real locations added depth, freshness, and realism that set environments often fail to provide. The film benefited visually from this approach.
Another major advantage was the support on the ground. Permissions were given without delays, officials were cooperative, and local people extended full help to the team. This made the shooting process smooth and also helped in controlling the budget.
As the film continues its successful run, the decision to shoot in Andhra Pradesh feels justified. It shows that positive change does not always need big announcements. Sometimes, it only needs filmmakers who are willing to act on words.
Naveen Polishetty’s example stands out. Not every film needs to be shot in Andhra Pradesh, but when a story demands real locations, the state clearly offers strong potential.
