Dulquer’s Escape Becomes a Major Alert for Others

Attaining stardom is considered as a big achievement for actors. But, choosing the right script is what puts them in pursuit of stardom. The art of script selection is not mastered by many in film industry because even seasoned artists may fail to grasp the potential of a film at the scripting stages.

South heartthrob Dulquer Salmaan seems to be in a different league in this aspect. The recent movie choices and the handsome offers turned down by him stand testimony to his judgemental skills while hearing scripts before giving the nod to filmmakers. His smart escape from some of the biggest flops in recent times is now a case study for his peers.

Usually, actors get carried away by their success streak and sign films without paying much heed to the potential in scripts, but Dulquer proved to be different from such set of actors when he withdrew from films like ‘Indian 2’, ‘Thug Life’ and ‘Parasakthi’.

Many industry folks criticised the actor back then for his bold decisions, but Dulquer proved them wrong because he stands vindicated as all these films turned out be epic disasters at the box office. He was approached for Siddharth’s role in Indian 2 and Simbhu’s character in Thug life. But, he opted out without any second thoughts.

Indian 2 and Thug Life were helmed by legendary directors like Shankar and Mani Ratnam. Yet, Dulquer did not fall for the big names and rejected the offers. He even turned down Sivakarthikeyan’s latest release Parasakthi which failed to impress moviegoers.

With all films rejected by the Lucky Bhaskar actor seeing the same fate at the box office, other stars are likely to exercise caution and rethink before taking up the same scripts.

Dulquer will be next seen in upcoming Telugu romantic drama Aakasamlo Oka Tara which is being directed by Pavan Sadineni.
