Controversial self-proclaimed critic and actor Kamaal Rashid Khan, well known as KRK, has been detained by Mumbai police late in the night on Friday in connection with an alleged gun firing that took on January 18th.
As per media reports, two rounds were fired at a residential building in Oshiwara in Andheri last week from Kamal’s licensed pistol. Based on a complaint lodged with the Oshiwara police by the residents, two bullets were recovered from Nalanda Society—one on the second floor and another on the fourth floor. One flat belongs to a writer-director, and the other to a model.
After launching a thorough investigation into the case, the cops were able to find out with the help of a forensic team that the bullets were fired from Kamaal R Khan’s bungalow. They immediately detained him and questioned about the incident during which he admitted to firing shots at a mangrove forest infront of his building.
During the interrogation, actor told the police that his intention was not to hurt anyone but fired shot to check the functionality of the gun when he was just cleaning. He added that the wind might have helped the bullets travel further towards the residential building. The gun was immediately seized and further verification into his claims is currently underway.
This is not the first that KRK has landed in legal trouble. His controversial statements on movie actors and politicians through his social media handles. Several cases were filed against him for his instigating remarks. He was arrested in 2022 for his disparaging comments on late Bollywood actors Rishi Kapoor and Irrfan Khan.
Kamal has the habit of inviting hatred from South moviegoers with his useless statements on big-ticket actors in Telugu and Tamil. He also several racist remarks on South actors and faced the ire of netizens in numerous occasions.
