2 Releases Within 4 Months: Comeback Year For Vijay?

One actor who hasn’t been able to live up to his high box office potential since COVID pandemic due to a streak of disappointing films is Vijay Devarakonda. Despite generating huge anticipation, none of his recent films like Liger, Kushi, The Family Star and Kingdom managed to achieve the desired box office results as they ultimately ended as commercial failures.

So, 2026 is going to be a decisive year for the Arjun Reddy actor who is under immense pressure to make a strong comeback at any cost to salvage his career from further fall. While his immediate next will be Ranabali with Taxiwala director Rahul Sankrityan, the other film is Rowdy Janardhana with Ravi Kumar Kola at the helm.

Interestingly, both these films will be releasing in a span of few months in the second half of this year. As per reliable sources, Ranabali is said to be targeting September release and Rowdy Janardhana might hit the screens in December.

Vijay is going to shoot for both these projects simultaneously without taking much gap. The production formalities are progressing at a brisk pace to meet the deadlines. If both teams complete everything according to their plans, this will be the first time Vijay will have back-to-back releases in just four months.

Ranabali is billed as a periodic action drama set in Rayalaseema backdrop with a British era connection. The film is said to be a unique attempt with one-of-its-kind narrative. On the other side, Rowdy Janardhana is touted to be a raw and intense potboiler with loads of bloodshed and action with a period setting.

Both Ranabali and Rowdy Janardhana have sparked adequate hype in audience just with their announcements. Vijay needs a big commercial break with either of these two offerings to revive his low lying career.
