Star War Loading for Sankranthi 2027?

Time and again, it has been proved that Sankranti season is the biggest money spinner for Tollywood films among all preferred release windows. The way this year’s festival releases performed at the box office stands testimony to this trade perception. So, many upcoming biggies are increasingly aiming to target the 2027 festival season.

Though it is too early to predict which forthcoming movies will compete during next Sankranti season, there are wide speculations that top league actors might vie at the box office this time. 

Riding on the blockbuster success of his previous two festival outings, Anil Ravipudi is once again desperate to continue his tryst with Sankranti by releasing his next film with Victory Venkatesh during the same season. He is unlikely to the miss the 2027 festival because of his knack in wrapping up films in quick succession without wasting much time. 

Nandamuri Balakrishna has long been considered as a Sankranti hero because he has a strong track record having delivered numerous festival hits. Though he missed out in recent times, there is chance for him to join the Sankranti race next year with his gangster drama under the direction of Gopichand Malineni. The regular shooting is expected to roll out very soon.  

The chances for this year’s Sankranti winner Megastar Chiranjeevi arriving for festival again in 2027 are very little as of now because of the delay in the start of his film with director Bobby due to the fact that KVN Productions is awaiting the release of their much delayed biggies like Jana Nayagan and Toxic.

Another seasoned actor Akkineni Nagarjuna also commands an impressive box office record when he competes during Sankranti season. But, there appears to be a slender chance for him to enter the heavy weight clash because his landmark 100th film with Ra Karthik is currently progressing at a brisk pace and will aim to release in the second half of this year. 

As of now, both Venkatesh and Balakrishna are the forerunners to vie at the box office for Sankranti 2027. There might be few other big-budget films to join the festival tussle in coming months.
