Will Ramayana Team Pull Off A Rajamouli ?

Ranbir Kapoor’s mythological spectacle ‘Ramayana’ is undoubtedly the most talked about pan-India film from Bollywood this year because it is being mounted on an ambitious scale with a star-studded casting and an extravagant budget.

As the film is getting ready for a grand release this Diwali, the makers are planning to kick start promotions to amp up the hype in all languages. Reportedly, a grand event is going to be held at the iconic Gateway of India in Mumbai on Sri Rama Navami in March to unveil the first looks of all leading characters in the film.

Sources revealed that the film’s marketing team is pulling all stops to make this event a massive success as it acts as a precursor for a bigger promotional campaign in the coming months leading to its release.

What will be interesting to watch out for is whether the makers of Ramayana take a cue from SS Rajamouli’s Varanasi event which turned out be a big success despite some technical difficulties.

The manner in which SS Rajamouli and his team pulled off a scintillating event in Hyderabad which drew the attention of both domestic and international audiences became a talking point all over and generated terrific buzz on Varanasi.

Given the scale and budget involved, Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana also needs a strong push in audiences across the country. The team should plan aggressive promotions in multiple cities as the film will have wide release all over and has big box office milestones to target.

Some big names from Bollywood and political spectrum are expected to attend this event. Ranbir, who plays Lord Ram, has personally invited family and close associates to the ceremony. This will be the first time that the epic’s character universe will be presented during the event.

It remains to be see if this promotional event turns out to be as big as Varanasi event and augments the buzz further or not.

The film features an ensemble cast featuring Sai Pallavi as Sita, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi and Arun Govil as King Dashrath.
