Euphoria, the latest offering from director Gunasekhar, failed to take off at the box office despite receiving decent reviews. One of the pivotal roles in the film was played by Gautam Menon, whose portrayal of a cop was central to the storyline.
In an exclusive interview with Gulte, Gunasekhar revealed an intriguing piece of casting and stated that he had initially approached Megastar Chiranjeevi for the role.
According to Gunasekhar, Chiranjeevi showed interest in the character and appreciated its depth. However, after a month, the legendary actor eventually decided to back out, citing that he wasn’t prepared to take on special roles at this stage of his illustrious career. This revelation hints at the significant impact Chiranjeevi’s presence could have had on the film’s outcome.
Had Chiranjeevi been a part of Euphoria, it’s likely that the film would have witnessed a different trajectory. His star power and screen presence might have turned the tables, bringing in a larger audience and adding a new layer of intensity to the narrative.
While the film’s potential remains a topic of discussion, one can only imagine the difference a megastar could have made in its success. Bhumika Chawla played the main lead in this film, which had a very strong social message about parenting, drug abuse, and education.
