A Crucial Day for the Funky Trio!

Tomorrow is going to be a crucial day for Vishwak Sen, director Anudeep, and heroine Kayadu Lohar. Their new film Funky is hitting the screens, and a lot depends on its result.

Vishwak Sen has faced back-to-back disasters in the last few years. In fact, he has not tasted a proper blockbuster success for almost five years now. At the pre-release event, Vishwak openly thanked Anudeep for offering him Funky when he was going through a low phase. He clearly stated that this film came to him at the right time. 

It has been quite a long time since he impressed the audience, as his films Laila, Mechanic Rocky, and Gangs of Godavari ended up as disasters at the box office. Especially with Laila, Vishwak was brutally trolled for his role and his choice of films. Gaami was the last release that managed an decent run, but that one big hit is still missing. Now, he badly needs a hit to bounce back.

There is no denying the fact that he is a solid talent, but his films need to click at the box office. Funky falls right into his comfort zone and could be the film that turns things around for him.

Kayadu Lohar is also pinning big hopes on this film. Her first Telugu outing failed to make an impact, and her presence went largely unnoticed in Telugu cinema. Funky is a big opportunity for her to prove herself and cash in on her craze.

Even director Anudeep has something to prove. While he is known for his fun personality, he needs to show that he is not a one-film wonder after Jathi Ratnalu.

In today’s scenario, films can no longer depend entirely on one liners while keeping full length comedy aside. If Anudeep once again proves his calibre with sharp one liners in Funky, he could create a strong zone of his own, irrespective of the ongoing trend.

The box office window is quite open for Funky. All it needs is positive talk. If the word of mouth clicks, this could change everything for the trio. Will it happen? let’s wait and watch.
