While fans are excited about this fresh concept entertainer, trade circles are now discussing something else, the massive box office clash it could face.
As per a Malaysian distributor, Pradeep ranganathan’s LIK has been scheduled for a March 19 release. If this holds true, the film will land right in the middle of one of the biggest clashes of the year, Dhurandhar 2 and Toxic which also release on the same date. An official confirmation from LIK’s production team is still awaited, but the release date buzz has already sparked debate.
The first installment of Dhurandhar performed strongly in Tamil Nadu, and expectations are sky-high for its sequel. On the other side, Yash enjoys tremendous craze in TN, making Toxic a strong competitor as well.
Amid such heavyweight releases, Pradeep’s decision to bring LIK into this battlefield looks like a bold risk. Is this confidence in content? Or a strategic move of makers?
