Devi Sri Prasad is all set to make his debut as a lead actor with the film titled Yellamma. Directed by Venu Yeldandi of Balagam fame, Yellamma is currently in the production mode. Interestingly, Devi Sri Prasad recently revealed that he is allocating ten days a month for the film’s shoot, which is ensuring a balance between his music career and acting.
In a recent interview, DSP said, “Dil Raju approached me for Yellamma and said, ‘Give me 10 days a month. I won’t disturb you more than that. The rest of the time, continue your music. We’ll plan the schedules in such a way, it doesn’t disturb your movies.’”
Many thought that DSP may hold new projects as the music director and complete ongoing projects alone. But, DSP is pretty clear on the fact that he would use ten days a month for acting and put his energies into music again for another 20 days.
Yellamma is a rooted subject like Balagam, set around the rural parts of Telangana. With the shoot taking place in multiple schedules, the production might take time to be completed. Having said that, DSP will be under watch for the music of Yellamma too, as he would be wearing both the hats.
Many are wondering why Dil Raju himself convinced the music director-turned-actor to allocate just 10 days a month for the film. Instead of demanding bulk dates, he reportedly assured DSP that the shoot would be planned around his music commitments.
Many opine that Dil Raju may have taken this decision consciously so that DSP’s long and successful music career remains undisturbed, while also giving him enough space to focus on his acting debut without pressure.
Currently, DSP is busy working on the score of Ustaad Bhagat Singh and a couple of other films.
