Horror Re Release Brings Unexpected Crowd To Theatres

At a time when even new films are struggling to pull audiences to theatres, a surprising success has come from a re release. The Telugu version of the horror film Kanchana returned to theatres across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Tamil Nadu and received a strong response from movie lovers.

The film reportedly saw impressive advance bookings and even trended on ticket booking platforms. Several theatres recorded good occupancy, with some shows running nearly house full. Trade circles estimate that the film collected around two to three crore rupees gross on the first day.

What makes this more surprising is that the film is a dubbed movie that originally released many years ago. Still, the popularity of the Muni horror comedy series among Telugu audiences played a major role in bringing viewers back to theatres.

Another factor is the long gap since fans watched Raghava Lawrence on the big screen. For many movie lovers, the re release of Kanchana became a perfect chance to relive the experience in theatres again.

With the box office currently going through a dull phase, the film has provided some relief to theatre owners. Until new releases arrive in the coming days, exhibitors expect Kanchana to continue attracting decent weekend crowds.
