Staged Robberies for Visa: 10 Indians Arrested in FBI Crackdown

The United States immigration authorities have been cracking down the illegal operations related to the immigration and border security. They have started to identify and nab the culprits who operate on shady grounds and distort US immigration laws.

A similar situation has come up in Boston now as the FBI has communicated Boston’s Violent Crimes Task Force has arrested 10 Indian nationals across MA, KY, MO, & OH for allegedly participating in staged armed robberies.

An 11th Indian national who was deported to India has also been charged.

These staged robberies were for the purpose of allowing store clerks to claim they were victims of violent crime so they could apply for immigration benefits.

These robberies would be staged in such a way that the culprits violently threatened store clerks and owners. The victims would then become eligible to apply for a U Visa in the United States, which is granted to victims of violent crimes.

The FBI has identified this crime, which is directly linked with visa fraud, and all these individuals are now facing elongated jail term along with other possible legal action.

It is being reported that each of these individuals could be subject to 5 years in prison and $250,000 in fine if they’re proven guilty. They are now facing the legal consequences for their fake robberies and are awaiting the final judgement.
