Director Vignesh Shivan has once again sparked curiosity around his upcoming film Love Insurance Kompany (LIK), starring Pradeep Ranganathan. A recent Instagram story posted by the filmmaker has led fans to speculate that the film might finally be eyeing an April 3 release.
If the hinted date turns out to be accurate, the makers are left with barely two weeks to build momentum, an unusually short window for a film that has already seen multiple delays. This has raised concerns within trade circles, especially considering the current lack of aggressive promotions.
Adding to the challenge, the Telugu market is expected to see a few releases around the same time, including Biker and Rakasa. While these may not be massive competitors, they still contribute to a crowded release frame, making it tougher for LIK to stand out.
What also works against the film is the dip in buzz. Despite Pradeep Ranganathan delivering back-to-back hits in recent years, the repeated postponements seem to have slowed down audience excitement. The initial hype that once surrounded the project has noticeably faded.
If April 3 is indeed locked, Pradeep and the team will need to rebuild interest from scratch with strong promotional content. Any further delay, however, could worsen the situation and risk pushing the film into a zone of diminished returns.
