Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma shared strong views on Dhurandhar 2 exclusively on Gulte Pro interview, calling it a film that completely breaks the usual rules of Indian cinema. According to him, this is not just a hit film, but something that changes how movies can be made.
One major point he highlighted is how the film avoids typical “mass hero” introductions. The lead character Hamza, played by Ranveer Singh, is shown in a serious and intense way instead of flashy slow motion scenes. This itself feels fresh.
Another surprising element is the long ending. Even after the main villain is gone, the film continues for nearly 40 minutes. Normally, audiences lose interest, but here people stayed till the very end, which shows strong storytelling.
RGV also praised the film’s use of silence. Instead of loud background music, some scenes stay quiet for several seconds, creating deeper emotion. Simple moments, like a phone call scene, carry strong impact without action.
Violence in the film is also handled differently. Instead of just showing brutality, it mixes it with music and emotion, making scenes feel intense and disturbing at the same time.
Characters are another big strength. Hamza does not explain himself much, which makes him more powerful. Villains also have strong arcs, changing from dangerous to weak in a realistic way.
In the end, RGV says Dhurandhar 2 is a wake-up call for the industry. He believes audiences may now expect more realistic and meaningful films instead of over-the-top commercial formulas.
For him, calling it just a blockbuster is not enough. He sees it as a major step forward for Indian cinema.
