Ram Charan In Legendary Director’s Period Adventure ?

For quite some time now, pan-India Telugu actor Ram Charan’s collaboration with Bollywood’s iconic filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been in the discussion due to frequent reports in the media circles that the duo is in plans to unite for a period drama. But, nothing concrete about this high-profile project materialized so far. 

Now, fresh reports once again started gaining buzz that Sanjay Leela Bhansali is going to helm a historical adventure drama which will see Ram Charan as the lead protagonist. Inside sources in Bollywood are buzzing with the news that Bhansali has locked the RRR actor for his next period thriller which is based in the backdrop of a jungle. 

Bhansali and Charan were supposed to work on the adaptation of author Amish Tripathi’s popular book Legend of Suheldev in 2024. However, the plans didn’t move forward beyond discussion stages due to unknown reasons. It is now believed that the fresh script is inspired by writer Vijayendra Prasad’s idea which was originally written for Rowdy Rathore 2. 

Popular writer Durgesh Singh, who wrote Gullak 2 and Shakti Shalini, is said to have prepared an adventure drama based on this idea and developed it into a full length script that suits a top-league actor. Bhansali is believed to be keen on roping in Ram Charan for this script. There is no clarity whether he pitched the story to Charan or not. 

Bhansali has the reputation for mounting period dramas on epic scale with larger-than-life canvas. On the other side, Ram Charan has garnered massive pan-India following with RRR. So, this formidable combination is bound to create ripples once it is formally announced. 

Currently busy with his much anticipated rural sports drama Peddi, Charan has Pushpa director Sukumar’s project on the horizon. If the news about Bhansali’s project turns out to be true, he might work on it after wrapping up Sukumar’s film. For now, the news remains a speculation.
