Dhanush is one of the superstars of Indian cinema. Having gained stardom in Tamil, he later earned a fan base in Telugu and even emerged as a bankable star in Hindi. Of late, Dhanush’s track record is going down in Tamil with back to back flops. Surprisingly, the films that he is doing with Telugu directors are bringing him hits.
In the last couple of years, Dhanush has scored hits like Sir and Kubera, both directed by Telugu directors. However, on the other hand, he failed with films like Idli Kadai and Kara.
In between, he did Tere Ishq Mein, which received good appreciation from Hindi audiences. However, his directorials also emerged as big hits.
Known for his brilliant acting, Dhanush earned a strong reputation in Tamil cinema with some cult films. However, the audience feels bored with his routine and regular movies with similar themes.
A lot of Tamil directors are also using his star image and telling the same old tale, which is why the reception has been less.
On the flip side, Dhanush is getting a chance to explore his acting skills further and also be a part of some different stories in Telugu. Whatever it may be, it is high time that Dhanush reconsiders his slate and revive his glory in Tamil cinema.
