Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has approached the Delhi High Court seeking an immediate stay on the production, promotion, and release of the upcoming film Kala Hiran: The Battle for Legacy. The move comes amid growing controversy surrounding the film, which is reportedly inspired by the actor’s long-running 1998 blackbuck poaching case.
According to reports, Khan has alleged that the makers have violated his personality and publicity rights by using elements that closely resemble his public image and legal history.
The petition reportedly argues that promotional material, including posters and teaser content, identifies him indirectly and could harm his reputation. The legal battle escalated shortly after the film’s teaser was released.
Salman’s legal team had earlier issued a notice demanding that the makers halt the project and remove promotional material linked to the film. However, the filmmakers have continued to defend the project, maintaining their stance despite the objections.
The film, produced by Amit Jani, has already generated significant attention due to its alleged connections to the blackbuck case and references to other controversial events. The Delhi High Court is expected to hear the matter soon, with the outcome likely to determine the future of the project.
